Zircotec Shortlisted for British Engineering Excellence Award 2009

It has been announced that Zircotec (Didcot, Oxon, England) is one of only seven companies shortlisted for the British Engineering Excellence Awards (BEEA) Small Company of the Year Award 2009.

In making their selection the BEEA Judges said they were looking for a small company that is able to demonstrate a sound and successful underlying business with an evolving product portfolio that is addressing a particular market need.

A Zircotec spokesman said: “Zircotec is of course extremely please to be shortlisted for this prestigious award, particularly at a time when the automotive sector as a whole is experiencing some significant challenges. Zircotec has continued to grow throughout the recession, with its continued focus on supplying a range of premium high quality products that meet specific market needs.

“Additionally we have continued to invest in ongoing product development and have added a number of new and exciting high-tech products to our portfolio, the most recent being our new lightweight flexible ceramic heat shield material, the sales of which are already exceeding expectations. As a testament to the company’s success we have continued to recruit additional staff to work at our factory in Oxfordshire.”

The overall winner of the Small Company of the Year Award 2009 will be revealed on Thursday 1 October 2009 at a ceremony to be held at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, London, with the award being presented by Tomorrow's World presenter, Kate Bellingham.
