Construction Innovation and Achievement 2006
The Construction Products Association has launched the 2006 edition of its annual publication, 'Construction Products Innovation and Achievement (CPIA)', which this year showcases 31 of the most innovative products and processes created by the UK construction products industry in the past 12 months and illustrates their contribution to the development of sustainable construction.
Commenting on the publication Simon Storer, External Affairs Director, said: "The standard of new and exciting products from across the industry continues to raise the bar and this year is no exception. The industry does not always trumpet its achievements but CPIA shows how the construction products industry is continuously developing and creating innovative products and processes which make a significant contribution to the whole life cost cycle of a building.
CPIA 2006 looks at the contribution in four key areas of significant importance to the construction industry; Health and Safety; Innovation; Natural Resource Management and Energy and Carbon Saving and how the new products and processes within these categories bring benefits to users and customers alike, with improvements in production, delivery, installation and performance.
The subject of modern methods of construction is regularly discussed; the companies included in CPIA, show that these companies are already doing what others are just talking about."
The 31 products featured in the publication cover a wide range and include processes designed to save energy and reduce emissions, provide health and safety guidance for employees and contractors and provide a full sustainability appraisal of manufacturing operations:
