APCI Announces US-based Electroceramic Powder Production Operation
APC International Ltd (Mackeyville, PA, USA) has announced the start-up of a USA based ceramic powder manufacturing facility, in Pennsylvania, for the production of piezoelectric powders. Hammond Lead Products, a chemical producer centred in Indiana, is working with APCI to match its lead-related materials science technologies with APCI’s array of established high performance lead-zirconate-titanate powders.
These piezoelectric powders, as well as additional custom formulation products, will be available through APCI and HLP to customers for applications in commercial and defence related markets. Expectations are for start-up of this production installation before the end of 2009.
Hammond Lead Products is the largest division of Hammond Group Inc, a wholly-owned corporation with domestic and foreign operations, and its corporate centre in Hammond, IN, USA. Founded in 1930, HLP has manufactured inorganic chemicals and glasses for the electrochemical, glass, polymer and electronic industries. Materials science technologies are developed internally or in conjunction with customer companies and universities.
APC International Ltd is a Pennsylvania-based company founded in 1986 and located in Mackeyville. APCI is a manufacturer of piezoelectric ceramics and ultrasonic devices supplying the industrial, medical, automotive, defence and aerospace market sectors.
