Tata Refractories Spreads Wings

Tata Refractories Ltd (TRL), the premier refractories plant in India, has expanded its Indian operations by starting two new operations in Jhansi and Hyderabad. While the Jhansi Operations started on 1 July 2009, the Hyderabad Operations came into effect from 1 August 2009.

Both the operations have been started based on the concept of partnering and collaboration. While the infrastructure and facilities are those of the partners, TRL has provided its technology, quality control, marketing support and product brand.

The partners are Eastern Refractories at Jhansi and Raasi Refractories at Hyderabad. TRL has deployed its senior executives at the level of VPs and GMs to manage the operations. This association will deliver enhanced value to the customers through cost effective refractories products with the state of the art technology offered by TRL and doorstep delivery of products.

Apart from these developments, it has been announced that TRL is going to put up a new plant in Visakhapatnam to manufacture High Alumina Refractories at a cost of Rs 80 crores. This decision was taken, keeping in view the logistic advantages of this port-city.

The company has adopted a five-year growth plan called Mission-2000 to achieve a revenue of Rs 2000 crores by 2012-13. These expansions are part of this plan. TRL aims to achieve a level of Rs 1000 crores in the current fiscal.

While the main works of TRL are located in Belpahar (Orissa), it has got operations in Jamshedpur, Salem (Tamil  Nadu), Gujarat and in China and boasts an extensive marketing network in India and abroad.
