ATW Companies Acquires Morgan Advanced Ceramics’ Metal Injection Moulding Business

ATW Companies Inc (Warwick, RI, USA), a leading provider of custom manufactured metal components and services, has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary Parmatech-Proform Corporation (Proform), has acquired the Metal Injection Moulding (MIM) business of Morgan Advanced Ceramics, based in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The acquisition will expand the MIM technology currently offered by Parmatech Corporation, an ATW Company based in Petaluma, CA, USA.

The newly acquired business specialises in providing solutions to meet application challenges through its own proprietary MIM process. Its products are used in the medical, telecommunications, aerospace, electrical and power, semiconductor and laser markets.

Peter Frost, President of ATW Companies, said: “We anticipate the combination of our businesses will prove beneficial by empowering us to serve our customers better.” Proform will enhance Parmatech Corporation’s current MIM business, expanding its MIM capabilities to the East Coast, as well as expanding production capabilities and improving product quality by leveraging ATW’s expertise in precision metal components. Mr Frost added: “This change in ownership will strengthen our relationships with customers and enhance the high level of service we provide”.

Among ATW’s many product capabilities are waveguide tubing, machined parts, sidewall frames, medical components, precision metal tubing and stamped metal parts. ATW brings 100 years of experience working with a variety of industries and diverse technologies, including aerospace, automotive, chemical processing, defence/firearms, electronics, frequency control, instrumentation, jewellery and silversmith, medical and superconductor technologies.
