Major Installation at Nuova Riwal Large Format Tile Factory
Nuova Riwal of Maranello (MO, Italy) has selected Sacmi (Imola, BO, Italy) to provide a new line capable of making large tiles and, most importantly, doing so at what are described as outstanding output rates.
The installation’s main components are a PH 6200 press and EVA984 dryer. Sacmi said that the choice of the PH6200 stemmed from its excellent versatility, which allows the user to produce both traditional tiles of various sizes and large-size ceramic slabs. Moreover, the press guarantees good performance and outstanding reliability, ensuring high power (6200 tons), high efficiency, excellent filling/ejection speeds and easy size changeovers.
The SPE mould ejection system provides perfect parallelism of the mobile plate and ensures optimal calibration of every single task.
Completing the Nuova Riwal line are a filler box and an EVA 984 vertical dryer, customised so as to meet the needs imposed by the layout of the Maranello plant.
This suitably sized dryer allows the producer to manage a wide range of sizes and obtain perfectly homogeneous tiles ready for transfer to the glazing line. Characterised by a basket size of 2300mm x 1350mm, the EVA 984 can reach temperatures of up to 250°C.
