Hope Ceramics Moves Into Ceramic Inkjet Printing With Xaar Technology

Hope Ceramics Machinery introduced the Xaar-enabled Hope Jet 600 at the 23rd China International Ceramics Industry Exhibition in Guangzhou, held from 1-4 June 2009.

Hope Ceramics demonstrated the impressive printer on its stand at the show. It is specifically designed to digitally print onto ceramic tiles with 40 Xaar printheads (10 printheads per colour). The printer’s design relies heavily on the dependability and quality of Xaar’s latest technology, providing an exciting market opportunity for Hope Ceramics in the field of Asian supply.

The Hope Jet 600 can print at speeds of up to 25m/min, is highly productive and uses the recently approved Chimigraf inks in combination with matched Fritta glazes. The Xaar-patented recirculating ink system of the printhead eliminates the need to continually stop production to purge printheads. Air bubbles and pigment particles that could block nozzles and cause print failure are automatically taken away from the nozzles, making it the ideal solution for the high-quality, single-pass demands of the ceramic tile printing industry.

“The Hope Jet printer emerged out of the ceramic market sector’s demand for inline, short-run printing onto ceramic tiles,” explained Karl Deng, Director General Manager of Hope Ceramics. “We chose Xaar technology due to its reputation in the market place and its proven reliability. A collaboration with Xaar was the natural choice to offer our customers the most flexible and dependable option.”

Thanks to its modularity and reliability, the Hope Jet printer can be integrated into any standard ceramic tile production line and can be tailored to meet the circumstances of the individual production requirements.

“Hope contacted us to see if we could work together on its digital solution for ceramic tile printing. Today, Hope already has a commercial proposition for the market, which shows how Xaar can help customers bring innovative products to market effectively,” commented Phil Eaves, Sales & Marketing Director, Xaar.

The Hope Jet 600 is now commercially available for distribution within Asia. It is not available in Europe.
