Ceramic Testing & Analysis

We offer testing of ceramics to a wide range of UK, European and International Standards carried out in our UKAS ISO 17025:2005 accredited laboratories. Testing materials and products for raw material assessment, product development, quality control as well as product and material evaluation conformity, fit for purpose, safety, legislative and environmental impact.

The range of materials tested include: tableware, refractories, tiles, sanitaryware, bricks, electro ceramics, industrial ceramics and all associated raw materials.

Testing can be divided in to chemical analyses for bulk composition to trace analyses; mineralogical analyses for speciation and phase determination.
Determination of physical properties such as grading, density, porosity, strength, rheology, mechanical, electrical and thermal properties and microstructure to study product failure or defects, failure mechanisms, inclusions, grain size and bonding structures, surface analysis, degradation and contaminants.

Typical work involves the analysis and testing of tiles, tableware, construction products, sanitaryware; refractories; raw materials and advanced ceramics.
