Joe has an Honours Degree in Chemistry from the University of Birmingham and spent his early career in industrial research, focusing on refractories and high temperature insulation materials.
Moving into Energy Consultancy, Joe worked with many international institutions and multi-national companies, conducting a wide variety of assignments, from Government policy development through to on-site energy auditing and investment feasibility studies. With a wide variety of international experience, Joe has worked extensively in Eastern Europe, USA, Canada and South America, for clients such as The World Bank, General Motors, Pilkington and Saint Gobain.
During his career, Joe has written a number of energy management publications for several organisations such as the International Energy Agency, EU and Carbon Trust.
Prior to joining Ceram, Joe worked for the North West Regional Development Agency managing a variety of energy sector publicly funded projects, including, the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre at the University of Manchester and the low carbon business support network Envirolink Northwest.
