Head of Chemistry
Colin is Head of Chemistry at CERAM and holds a degree in Chemistry, a master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry and a PhD in Analytical Sciences. He is a Chartered Chemist (C. Chem.) and Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC).
As an experienced Senior Analytical Chemist, Colin has been responsible for the development of Analytical Services and running commercial Analytical Chemistry laboratories for over twenty years in a wide range of disciplines. He brings expertise from industrial, academic and government departments and is now responsible for the supervision and development of analytical services within CERAM. Colin's role includes the development of new analytical techniques, the validation of analytical procedures and problem analysis for client applications. Additionally, Colin has an extensive background in Quality Management Systems including UKAS, MCERTS, GLP, and the delivery of high quality results that fulfill client requirements.
Colin specializes in the analysis and characterization of a wide range of materials including gases, water, polymers, soils and industrial minerals for commercial utilization. He is available to develop bespoke analytical solutions when required, and skilled in the interpretation of analytical data using chemical analysis techniques. Colin also has experience working with both local and international organizations and has been responsible for the successful completion of many international projects.
