Ben has a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Manchester. His third year project involved synthesising block co-polymers for use as a drug delivery capsule via a controlled radical polymerisation.
At Ceram, Ben is currently working in the area of biomedical devices, with projects including novel HA formulations and controlled release work from bioglasses/sol-gels. He is also working with polymer emulsions and using zeta to track and characterise different systems to build a better understanding of what's occurring in more complex formulations (ranging from shampoos to anaesthetics/non-water soluble drug injections).
