Ceramica Vallelunga Starts Up New Kiln for Innovative Project

Ceramica Vallelunga (Nepi, VT, Italy) offers a whole host of models in its two main core businesses of floor tiles and wall tiles. The company is known for its specialisation in the production of ceramic, porcelanised stoneware and cotto tiles. The latest news is the start-up of a new single layer FMS 255 kiln, 73.5m long, supplied by Sacmi (Imola, BO, Italy) in its production plants in Vallelunga.

The aim of the new machine is to actuate a project started last year to streamline and increase production output of the company's top formats. In fact, comments Sacmi, the FMS 255 is the perfect solution for the production of 500mm x 500mm tiles. This new kiln model boasts several innovative features, in particular regarding energy savings.

The kiln is equipped with a BSR system with heat exchanger that aids in optimising heat consumption. In addition, the FMS 255 kiln is equipped with a set of superior quality ceramic rollers, manufactured by Keratech, a Sacmi Group subsidiary.

The installation of the new kiln follows Ceramica Vallelunga's purchase of a PH 3800 press with EVA 984 model dryer, started up over the last few months. Vallelunga reportedly has around 150 employees and generates over €25 million in annual sales.
