Manufacturing & Materials Measurement Technical Surgery

NPL (Teddington, Middx, England) has announced a DTI-funded Manufacturing and Materials Measurement Technical Surgery, to be held at the National Metals Technology Centre (NAMTEC) in Rotherham, South Yorks on 2 November 2005.

The DTI funds research in good measurement practice to enable UK based business to be competitive both within the UK and on the international stage. This event, the first of its kind, is designed to help local companies benefit from DTI investment. It has been developed through close liaison with local business support organisations and manufacturers who are committed to the concept of good measurement practice.

Delegates will get:

-- a 1-2-1 review with a measurement expert relevant to their specific needs.
-- access to funding initiatives to help with measurement problems.
-- guidelines on measurement practice relevant to their needs.
-- opportunity to meet other organisations that could support their business.
-- chance to hear speakers from successful companies talk about how good measurement practice has benefitted their businesses.
-- opportunity to network with other companies from within the same region.

The event is targetted at all who want to help improve their company's manufacturing and production processes or who want to develop innovative technical solutions. These are likely to include engineers, technical managers, QA/QC managers, technicians and researchers.

Although the events are free to attend, registration is required. An appointment system will ensure that delegates are matched with the expert most appropriate to their particular needs. For all further information, e-mail Emma Mulligan at NPL at: emma.mulligan@npl.co.uk
