American Standard Makes Senior Appointments

American Standard Companies Inc has named James Dwyer as President of its global Bath and Kitchen business. He will report to Chairman and CEO Fred Poses.

Dwyer joins American Standard after spending a decade in senior executive roles with major consumer enterprises, including PepsiCo Inc and Kraft General Foods. "Jim Dwyer is a talented, well-rounded business leader with a proven track record in marketing, operations and sales," said Fred Poses. "He has demonstrated success in delivering profitable growth, enhancing major consumer brands and strengthening distribution systems. With this background, he's the right person to lead our Bath and Kitchen business and continue the progress that's been made in improving our operations, as well as in developing successful new designs and products and building more powerful marketing programmes. We're delighted to have him on our team."

American Standard has also announced the appointment of Paul Curlander - Chairman and CEO of Lexmark International Inc - to the company's board of directors. Curlander has been with Lexmark since its formation in 1991 and became CEO in 1998 and Chairman in 1999. Under his leadership, the company has reported compounded annual revenue growth of 10% over the past five years. Before Lexmark, he spent 17 years with IBM in various product development and management positions.

"Paul's broad business experience, engineering background and technical expertise are valuable to our business, and will further enhance the diverse experiences and perspective of our board," said Fred Poses.
