In-House Screen Manufacture Boosts Service

The decision by Materials Handling Products Ltd (Swadlincote, Derbys, England) to manufacture all punched rubber screens in-house has, reports the company, proved extremely popular with customers.

Managing Director Brian Mackenzie explained the benefits: "We can offer an improved service to customers because we are in complete control of the production process. In-house manufacture enables the highest quality standards to be maintained and an even faster service to be offered to customers".

MHP specialises in lining, spillage control and screen media solutions and has a team of people with extensive knowledge and expertise in the design and manufacture of screen media. The move to bring manufacturing in-house included investment in a CNC machine designed specifically for the manufacture of screens. The company has also developed a comprehensive library of tooling for the products.

MHP's screens are made from traditional screen cloth consisting of polyester-corded carcass to give maximum performance and minimum stretch and wear. This, adds the company, provides up to 30% more wear and 30% less stretch than products made from materials not specifically manufactured as screen cloth.

Brian says that customer feedback is very positive: "Customers appreciate our commitment to customer service and want to buy locally made, high quality and cost effective products".
