Robots Form Part of 2 Million Investment at Rosemary

Four high technology palletising robots have been installed by Redland
Roofing Systems at its Bedworth works to boost productivity and ensure that
the demand for Rosemary plain tile is met in the growing clay roof tile
market. This is the first phase of a 2 million development programme for
the works over the next three years.

"Robot technology is the most logical development to boost productivity,
which was already high at Bedworth because of the increasing demand for
manufactured clay products," said Product Marketing Manager Paul Jones.
"The demand for clay tiles is not only growing among traditional re-roofing
customers; it's also attracting new levels of demand in other
new-build-markets."

The computer-controlled robots supplied by Ceric Automation were already
operating at full efficiency only eight weeks after their installation, to
keep the Bedworth works on track for its yearly output target of 24.6
million tiles.
