Key Appointments at Orton

In an effort to bolster thermal instrumentation and kiln controller sales, the Orton Ceramic Foundation (Westerville, OH, USA) has appointed Reed Slevin as Product Manager for Instruments and has promoted Jim Baldwin to Product Manager for Controllers.

Reed Slevin joined Orton on 16 September 2002 in the newly created position of Product Manager for Instruments and will be responsible for sales and marketing and product development for the division.

Prior to joining Orton, Reed worked at Harrop Industries for eight years. He served as General Manager of the instrument group (which Orton acquired in 1999), as Interim Manager of the Materials Evaluation Lab and as Product and Marketing Manager.

Reed held a variety of R&D, technical sales and sales support, marketing and senior management positions before working with Harrop. Among the organisations he worked for were Wulfrath Refractories, General Ceramics, Sauder Energy Systems, Harbison Walker Refractories and 3M Company.

Jim Baldwin will concentrate on the sales and marketing of Orton's range of digital temperature controllers by promoting sales to kiln OEMs and by seeking new markets. With over 11 years' experience working in the development and production of Orton controllers, Jim is committed to providing customers with advice and support to meet their temperature controller needs.
