'No-Nonsense' Digital Thermometer Range

The KAL series of digital thermometers - from Kalestead (Braintree, Essex, England) - have been designed to meet customer demand for a no-nonsense, robust, low cost, easy to use temperature measuring device.

KAL1 and KAL2 use standard type K thermocouple inputs. KAL3 and KAL5 employ type T to give greater accuracy while still retaining the speed of response typical of thermocouples.

KAL4 is said to provide even greater accuracy at the expense of a slightly slower response time by using a Platinum Resistance input.

There are no complicated instructions to memorise. The user simply plugs in the probe, switches on and then can measure temperatures from minus 100°C to plus 1200°C. Prices for these instruments range from £49 up to £69, with discounts available for certain quantities ordered.

Kalestead also has a series of digital calibrating thermometers for temperature measurement and calibration. The KAL6 to KAL10 instruments include a temperature simulator for checking the calibration of thermometers or temperature controllers. The user simply plugs the calibrator lead into the output socket, connects the instrument to be checked, adjusts the control knob and verifies the calibration.
