Morgan Advanced Ceramics at Aluminium 2000 20 - 22 September, 2000

Part of The Morgan Crucible Company plc, Morgan Matroc is a leader in technical ceramics. Silicon nitride for molten non-ferrous metal handling is a proven solution to problems associated with cast-iron and refractory-coated cast-iron for containment and transfer of aluminium without contamination. Used as a riser tube in low-pressure die-casting production of wheels, it has found applications also in degassing, temperature measurement and master alloy production.

Silicon nitride, an advanced ceramic, offers exceptional resistance to attack from many non-ferrous alloys containing aluminium, magnesium, copper, zinc and lead. Other products on show include silicon nitride jigs and fixtures for heat treatment, brazing and soldering applications.

New at Aluminium 2000

Newly launched precision sacrificial rings replace resin cores to create lubrication chambers inside diesel engine pistons, ensuring higher combustion temperatures at the piston crown and decreasing atmospheric pollution.
