Lex Komatsu on the Tiles with British Ceramic Tile (BCT)

Seven Komatsu lift trucks are being worked round the clock by BCT Limited.

The lift trucks, a mixture of LPG and electric powered vehicles and powered pallet trucks, have been supplied to the Newton Abbot, Devon based company, through Lex Komatsu South, of Bristol, which distributes Komatsu lift trucks throughout the south of England.

The fast growing ceramic tile manufacturer, which supplies major retailers in the UK such as Homebase and Focus Do-It-All, has taken possession of two FG25T-12 2.5--tonne lift capacity LPG powered trucks, an FG15HT-16 1.5-tonne lift capacity LPG powered unit, an FB20M-3 three wheeled electric truck with a 2-tonne lift capacity, plus three MWL16 powered pallet trucks.

The units are used to transport raw materials and glaze, weighing up to a tonne per load, to the manufacturing area as well as loading and unloading delivery trucks.

Working in a dusty environment, the lift trucks help BCT deliver 8 million square metres of product a year from its £30 million purpose-built 240,000 sq feet production facility.

These Komatsu lift trucks are powered by advanced technology engines for a more economic, effective performance meeting the latest noise and emissions regulations, and the units can be tailor made to meet the harshest of working environments with protection against dust, sand, water and salt, as well as extreme temperatures.
