Graphic Interface Brings Interconnectivity to Infrared Sensors

Ircon BV (Amersfoort, Holland) has introduced a dedicated Multi-Sensor Interface (MSI) for its Modline(r) 5 Series of infrared sensors. The MSI enables users to access configuration and temperature data for up to 12 sensors over plant wide networks and the internet via an embedded web browser interface.

A NEMA 4X rated, 26.4cm touch panel colour display, Ircon's MSI comes pre-loaded with graphic screens presenting Modline 5 sensor configuration, status, current temperature, historical trends and temperature alarms. Without any user programming, the unit provides an instant overview of Modline 5 sensors interconnected by an RS485 network.

With its built-in web browser interface, the MSI can be accessed by a remote workstation using Microsoft(r) Internet Explorer, version 6.0 or higher, to modify sensor set-up and to view sensor temperature measurements and trends. Equipped with a Type II slot for Compact Flash cards, the MSI also offers users the option of storing temperature data in CSV format onto a 64MB CF card provided with the unit. Compatible with standard spreadsheet software, the CF data can be directly accessed by the web browser.
