Imerys in Exclusive Negotiations for Major Acquisition

Imerys announced on 19 September 2005 that it was in the final stage of exclusive negotiations with the Nord Est group for the acquisition of its subsidiary Denain-Anzin Minraux (DAM).

DAM produces kaolins, feldspars, micas and quartz from industrial facilities located mostly in France, as well as in Spain, Italy, Portugal and Germany. Active in the European markets of minerals for ceramics (floor tiles, sanitaryware, tableware, porcelain), fibreglass (kaolin) and paint (mica), DAM achieved sales of approximately 85 million in 2004.

Imerys achieved sales of $2.9 billion in 2004.
