New Ceramic Event Established in Vietnam

Hannover Fairs Asia Pte Ltd (Singapore) has announced plans for a new exhibition - EPM - CeramTech 2002 - which is to be incorporated under EPM (Engineering/Production/Machinery) Vietnam, said to be the leading group of international fairs in that country. Over the years (since inauguration in 1992), EPM Vietnam has grown to become what is described as the largest and best known industrial trade fair in Vietnam. It will return again for the eighth time from 19-22 November 2002 in Hanoi.

The ceramic sector is investing in updated production technology and equipment to boost the quality of its ceramic products in order to capture a bigger share of the lucrative export market. Over US$1 billion is due to be invested over the next few years to improve the mining procedures as well as investment in modern equipment to better process the raw kaolin, feldspar and clay resources. EPM reports that the Vietnamese Government is giving several incentives in terms of bank loans, tax exemption etc in order to encourage production companies to upgrade their facilities.

EPM - CeramTech 2002 is said to be strongly supported by key government ministries and other institutions responsible for the expansion and development of this important sector. Furthermore, an extensive visitor promotion is being planned to ensure that the most important buyers in all relevant sectors are in attendance.
