Custom-built Furnace for growth of Oxide Crystals delivered

Thermal Technology Inc recently delivered a custom furnace for Stepanoff growth of oxide crystals to a company in the USA. This special furnace is capable of growing oxide crystals up to 100mm hexagonal by 510mm long. A special semi-continuous feed mechanism was designed to maintain the melt volume throughout the process. The furnaces used a 50kW induction power supply.

Thermal Technology offers crystal growth furnaces for the following techniques: Bridgman; Czochralski; Kyropoulos; and Stepanoff.

The special system mentioned here is similar to the Astro Model 10070-50CZ which is capable of Czochralski growth of oxide crystals up to 100mm diameter by 300mm long.
