Fibercon Expandable Felt

For those users who need an ideal solution for the filling of expansion joints in areas which have poor accessibility, Insulcon BV is pitching its Fibercon Expandable Felt.

Fibercon Expandable Felt is being manufactured using aluminium oxide (97% Al2O3) fibres with a classification temperature of 1600°C. Because of the fact that the felt expands after being heated, the products are said to be the perfect solution for the filling of expansion joints in, for example, industrial furnaces, or around burner blocks. Fibercon Expandable Felt compensates for the expansion and shrinkage.

Advantages claimed for the product include:

-- Expands after being heated from 7mm up to around 21mm

-- It's flexible

-- Temperature resistant up to 1600°C

--  It's easy to cut and machine

-- It has an excellent chemical resistance

-- No shrinkage, but expansion (also at high temperatures)
