Innovative Drying Technology for Grinding Discs

Krebs & Riedel GmbH & Co KG (Bad Karlshafen, Germany), the well known manufacturer of grinding discs, in collaboration with Julius Lippert GmbH & Co KG (Pressath, Germany) has streamlined its polishing disc drying line in a fundamental and groundbreaking way.

Following a thorough analysis of the situation, a requirement profile was prepared through a joint effort. As it turned out, the most feasible solution was a dynamic, climate controlled ventilation technology with special, controlled temperature humidity and air speed graphs. This was then realised into a made-to-measure drying chamber.

All requirements were quickly met by the time of installation, trial operation and graph optimisation.

According to Krebs & Riedel, the new drying technology affords the company the following advantages:

* reduction of drying cycles and hence reduction in delivery times.
* reduction in the number of rejects through minimisation of drying errors.
* reproducibility of drying results.
* minimisation of processed-related downtime.
* QM compliant documentation of all relevant process data.
* increased customer satisfaction.
