Confindustria Ceramica Distributors Award At 25th Cersaie

The official presentation ceremony for the Confindustria Ceramica Distributors Award, the prize that is presented each year at Cersaie to distributors of Italian ceramic tiles who have excelled in their relations with Italian tile producers, will be held at the end of the economic conference scheduled for Tuesday 2 October at 11am in Sala Europa, Palazzo dei Congressi, adjacent to the Bologna Exhibition Centre.

At the 25th International Exhibition of Ceramic Tiles and Bathroom Furnishings, the Award will be presented to four importers/distributors selected by the Confindustria Ceramica jury for having promoted the culture of Italian tile in accordance with specific criteria such as product fidelity, long-term competence and professionalism, solvency and fair commercial practices, turnover and investments in promoting awareness and use of Italian tiles.

In accordance with these principles, companies from Italy, France, Germany and Sweden have been selected for this 12th edition of the Award.

For Italy, the award goes to C.C.B Barili Srl of Bari. Founded in 1962, the company reported a turnover of €16.5 million last year, 38% of which was generated from sales of ceramic tiles. It employs 84 people at its two showrooms, which have a total display area of 4,500 square metres.

The distributor Filgres Carrelages Sarl based in Saint-Genis-Laval (France) has 37 employees and a total turnover of almost €10 million, 90% of which was generated by sales of ceramic tiles. The four showrooms extend over an area of 1,200 square metres.

Harry's Fliesenmarkt of Hamburg, Germany was founded in 1962 and currently has 45 employees. It has an extensive sales network throughout the country with a total of 7,000 square metres of exhibition space.

The 2007 winner for Sweden is Konradssons Kakel AB, a distribution company headquartered in Jönköping and with two branches in Stockholm and Göteborg. It was founded in 1968 and last year reported a turnover of €17.7 million, 78% of which was generated through sales of ceramic tiles. It employs 36 people.
