Tile Association Bugs Carpet Industry

The Tile Association (TTA) in the UK says that following the success of the little boy advertising campaign ('Don't let carpet bugs get up your nose...replace your carpet with hygienic ceramic floor tiles') it is launching a follow-up schedule of advertisements for the latter half of this year.

The Carpet Foundation has hit back with the launch of a TV advertising campaign at the same time and will reportedly be spending 800,00. TTA seems to be dismissing this, saying that this level of spend "won't buy a lot of TV time". TTA says it will adopt a more targeted strategy. TTA adverts will appear in home interest titles aimed at changing the perceptions of tile versus carpet amongst a section of the population who are most likely to be spending money on home improvements.

To reinforce the campaign, TTA member companies will be displaying posters and stickers of the advert in their premises.
