Final Draft BAT Guidance for Ceramics Sector
The guidance note has been split in two and the second part, covering whiteware installations, is currently being prepared and will be issued shortly. The second part of the note was delayed pending a decision on whether the whitewares sector was covered by the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Directive (96/61/EC).
The guidance will be issued under regulation 37 of the Pollution Prevention and Control (England and Wales) Regulations 2000 and affects Part A2 (local authority integrated pollution prevention and control) installations.
The purpose of the consultation exercise is to allow key industry and local authority stakeholders, plus wider interested organisations, to have a final opportunity to comment on the guidance note before it is formally issued.
Comments are required by 21 November 2003.
