Brazilian Manufacturer Plans Angolan Tile Venture

Brazilian company Cláudio Vogel, a ceramic roof tile manufacturer based in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, plans to set up a factory in Angola and is currently carrying out an economic feasibility study, Angolan news agency Angop reported.

The company, which has been operating in the Angolan market for four years, manufactures roof tiles in Brazil and later sells and distributes them in Angola via Bejoma Comércio Geral, the Luanda based concern.

If the factory is built, Cláudio Vogel will reduce its costs of export and transport, according to its sales director, as shipping between Brazil and Angola costs over US$700,000 every year.

The company is taking part in the Luanda International Fair (Filda) for the third time and also exhibited tiles of various colours at the sixth edition of the Constrói Angola fair.

As well as enamelled tiles, the company also exhibited decorated paving tiles for outside use as well as for swimming pools, garages and gardens, according to the recent report.
