Treibacher Sees Interest for its Ceramic Grinding Beads

Treibacher reports that it has just returned from its first ever participation in the Ceramitec exhibition where it was pleased to note the tremendous amount of interest shown by ceramic experts. The highlight for the company at the Munich exhibition was the market launch of its newest development, the Cerabead(r) CZ, a grinding bead for wet grinding processes.

On average, these beads are about the size of a pinhead and said to be distinguished by extreme hardness and fracture toughness. Because of their low wear rate, added Treibacher, they can be used as grinding media in high efficiency bead mills.

Possible application areas are the grinding of ceramic raw materials, part of the process for manufacturing ceramic capacitors for the electronics industry, as well as dispersion in the paints industry. The company said that numerous enquiries demonstrated the market demand for this product.

In addition to the Cerabead CZ products, a wide range of rare earth oxide compounds, rare earth oxides, carbides, nitrides and borides were exhibited at Ceramitec. The company said that its participation on this occasion had proved to be a big success.
