Third Indian Ceramics Exhibition Set for March 2008

Indian Ceramics 2008, the third in this series of exhibitions on the subcontinent, will take place from 11-13 March 2008 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai.

The exhibition is establishing itself as a key showcase for a whole host of suppliers in what is one of the largest and fastest developing markets for ceramic technology, machinery, raw materials, project management, know-how and ancillaries.

The Bombay Exhibition Centre is a renowned show venue and while offering all of the facilities and technical support required for the event is only around one hour’s flight time from the major centres in neighbouring Gujarat, an official Ceramic Cluster and home to hundreds of top manufacturers.  The 2008 event follows on from Morbi in 2006 and Mumbai in 2007 and the newly appointed organisers, Gattaca Communications Ltd, have secured additional space for this still burgeoning show.  Gattaca also organises the major GCC glass industry show, Gulf Glass (www.glassinthegulf.com).

Indian Ceramics has become a firm fixture in the calendar for the whole of the region and is supported by ICCTAS, The Indian Council of Ceramic Tiles & Sanitaryware (www.icctas.com). ICCTAS was formed in 1990 and is now an extremely important organisation within the Indian ceramic industry. At the time of establishment, as the Government of India did not entertain individual representations, it prompted the producers to start the association. The purpose was to enable producers of tiles and sanitaryware in the organised sector to come together and share their problems. During the past decade ICCTAS has steadily grown to become an apex body of information in the field of ceramic tiles and sanitaryware in India, duly recognised not only in its home country but also more widely abroad.

While suppliers and key players from the subcontinent naturally participate in this event, it is international in nature and draws exhibitors from wherever there is a desire to become more established in the vast Indian ceramic market.  Well known European groups – such as ACIMAC in Italy and VDMA in Germany – have signalled support for Indian Ceramics and, encouragingly for the organisers, enquiries from completely new areas are currently being handled.

Asian Ceramics, the independent voice of the industry in Asia – which has just celebrated 10 years of successful publication – is the official media partner of Indian Ceramics.  As the show has progressed, media interest from around the world has grown and the show is now actively supported by titles in the UK, mainland Europe, China and the Middle East.  In due course, others are also expected to participate.

Gattaca now has available the 2008 exhibition floorplan, space and shell scheme tariffs, support services, sponsorship info, background on the Mumbai centre and all other necessary guidance for potential exhibitors.  Direct requests for the brand new brochure (available as a PDF) and all other queries can be e-mailed to sales@gattacaltd.com or interested parties can telephone the organiser on +44 (0)845 3939 650.
