Industrial Agreement Between Barbieri & Tarozzi and SITI

An industrial agreement has been announced between Gruppo Barbieri & Tarozzi (Formigine, MO, Italy) and SITI (Marano Ticino, NO, Italy).

Fabio Tarozzi – Executive Vice President of the new group – said: "It’s an extremely important agreement that strengthens the position of two prestigious trademarks, joining technical/commercial competence and creating a complete synergy. The strategic agreement will represent an opportunity both for the market and for the customers, since the group will have a more complete and stronger constructive capacity, whose point of force will be the total complementarity of the range of products and the complete presence in the world-wide market".

The partners say that the formation of a single, large industrial organisation will result in the creation of the second largest plant engineering group in this field in the world in terms of turnover. It will be able to rely on certain aspects of integration, the first of these being their combined force in international markets, where the commercial presence in the various key areas of the two companies complement one another perfectly from a geographical point of view. In fact, the group’s competitiveness will benefit greatly from the synergic use of a practical and efficient structure that is capable of keenly safeguarding its presence in all markets in the world of ceramics.

Specifically, B&T’s consolidated position in Europe, the Middle and Far East and Latin America will be reinforced by the deep-rooted presence of SITI in Eastern Europe, Russia and the ex-Soviet Republics, Brazil and North Africa. The production range that this new organisation will offer to the market will also be integrated to an impressive level: each of the two companies will keep the specific characteristics of its own outstanding products. From the clay preparation phase right through to sorting and packaging, there will be no significant overlaps. In pressing – a key phase in the production process – the wealth of products on offer will remain unchanged and the product lines will be integrated.

The sum total of the competences in this specific area will also provide the utmost guarantee of technological reinforcement and progress for the group. Mario Speranza, Chief Executive Officer of the new group, said: "Considering the limited propensity in the industrial investments, Barbieri & Tarozzi group moved against the current trend, by investing in the industrial agreement which will improve the great quality of the high technology products of both groups and the future investments will be especially planned in the human resources, considered the winning force both for the intellectual and professional faculty".

Fausto Tarozzi – President of the new group – affirmed: "The achievement of this sought-after target has been attained in the most positive way; it has not been an acquisition but a real integration of two companies, integration that must be considered as the real key of the project".
