Ceramic Fibre Product Offers Good Sound Absorption

Thermal Ceramics has announced the development of a new product for applications requiring excellent sound absorption capabilities. Cerablanket AC2 ceramic fibre blanket combines the advantages of high temperature capability and good mechanical strength over standard mineral wool or basalt insulation materials, says the company. These features allow the product to be used in the most demanding acoustic applications.

Cerablanket AC2 is a specially produced ceramic fibre blanket with a temperature rating of 1315°C and a recommended continuous use limit of 1175°C.

Applications include heat recovery steam generator silencers, process mufflers and sound walls. In recent tests by outside laboratories, reports the company, the product has been shown to meet established thermal and acoustic specifications in the power generation industry.

Thermal Ceramics has also announced recently that it has opened a representative office in the Middle East. It is located in Jebel Ali in Dubai and Mr K Nagraj is the General Manager. The main role of the new office is to provide marketing and technical support to customers in the region.
