SIRIM to Train Sarawak Ceramic Makers

Star Business has reported that SIRIM will train 50 entrepreneurs in Sarawak in the use of modern technology to make ceramic products. These will be selected for the intensive training by the Sarawak Industrial Development Ministry, which signed a Memorandum of Understanding on this with SIRIM during the opening of the Sarawak Industrial Promotion and Exhibition Centre (SIPEC) in Kuching recently.

SIRIM's senior vice president for standards and quality, Abdul Aziz Manan, said ceramic producers had to acquire new skills and modern technologies to improve productivity. Sarawak is, he added, endowed with high quality ceramic resources which could be used to make value-added products for the export market.
