Siam Cement Third Quarter Results
Thailand's Siam Cement Group (SCG) announced excellent financial results for the third quarter of 2004. Total sales were 52.233 billion baht, representing a 45% increase over the third quarter of 2003.
On a quarterly basis, Siam Cement Public Co Ltd (SCC) recorded a net profit of 11.988 billion baht, an increase of 147% over Q3 2003 due to the strong performance of most of the business units.
The Building Products Business - the business segment which includes SCC's major ceramic manufacturing arms - recorded total sales of 5.274 billion baht. This represented an increase of 19% and was the result of strong sales of both roofing products and ceramic tiles nationwide.
For the year to date (nine months), SCC reported total sales of 141.6 billion baht, an increase of 29%. Net profit for the first nine months was 27.086 billion baht, an increase of 94%.
