Innovative Scraper Approach Reduces Costs by Two-Thirds

The latest technology teamed with innovative engineering has resulted in the new cost effective and durable 'Scimitar' scrapers (part of the Abraflex range) says lining, spillage control and screen media company Materials Handling Products Ltd (Swadlincote, Derbys, England).

The company added that the new extended-life, tungsten-tipped scrapers sacrifice nothing in performance or technical advantage but the innovative design and engineering cuts the purchase price by almost two-thirds in comparison to conventional tungsten carbide blade scrapers.

The MHP approach enables a one-piece 16mm tungsten carbide blade to be used, rather than the usual small sections needed to be attached individually. This large, single blade reduces maintenance and makes the scrapers suitable for most applications up to 1200mm.

Brian Mackenzie, Managing Director of MHP, explained why the new product was introduced: "We strive to design products that give our customers quality, cost effectiveness and choice. Top of the range conventional tungsten tipped scrapers can be very costly so we worked with the top engineers to develop this new scraper in order to increase the options available".
