Record Income for CARBO Ceramics
CARBO Ceramics Inc (Irving, TX, USA) had a record quarterly net income of US$11.5 million on record revenues of US$58.5 million for the third quarter 2004. Revenues for the quarter increased by 35% and net income increased by 42% compared with the third quarter 2003.
Sales volume for Q3 2004 was also a record - standing at 182 million pounds - and was an increase of 21% over Q3 2003. The growth in sales volume was driven by strong international demand with overseas shipments for the quarter up 80% compared to Q3 2003. Third quarter operating profit margin increased to 31% from 30% in Q3 2003.
Total net income for CARBO Ceramics in the first nine months of the year amounted to US$30.9 million on revenues of US$160.8 million, compared with US$20.3 million and US$121.2 million respectively in the first nine months of 2003.
