Portuguese Number One Kiln Builder Keeps Busy

With clients all over the world, Fornoceramica (Leiria, Portugal) has been concentrating its efforts in a few zones of the globe and announces success in installing kilns of considerable dimensions, mainly in the sanitaryware, porcelain and earthenware industries.

Already in 2000, it has installed various types of kiln in North Africa (Tunisia for porcelain; Morocco for tableware); the Middle East (Iran for sanitaryware); Spain (for both tableware and red body clay floor tiles); France (for earthenware and the chemical industry); Brazil (for porcelain, technical ceramics and earthenware); and in other countries and continents.

The company has two plants (in the centre and north of Portugal) employing 85 people and subcontracting 20 more (on the metal forming side). In the past two years, joint ventures have been developed, with local companies or directly with final clients, underlined by the cooperation with Fornoceramica's partner EUROTECH in Brazil, which it says has been doing remarkable work.
