Multicer Builds Brick Factory in Viana

Angolan company Multicer (Indústria Cerâmica de Angola), part of the Intercept Group, is reported to have invested US$12 million in the construction of a brick factory. The factory will be 12,500 square metres (on a 10-hectare site), use 240 tonnes of clay per day and produce 30,000 bricks per year. Multicer will also produce roof tiles and concrete beams beginning in May 2009. The factory will be fully operational in 2009 and will include a production area, offices, sales area and accommodation for foreign staff.

Technicians from Brazil have been taken on, not only to set up the production equipment and supervise tasks but also to train up the Angolan ceramic operatives.
