Institute of Clay Technology Members Vote for Merger

At an Extraordinary General Meeting of The Institute of Clay Technology (ICT) held on 14 October 2005, the members voted in favour of the proposed merger with the Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining (IoM3).

This proposal has been the subject of a great deal of debate within the ICT for much of the last two years.

A total of 328 members voted either by post or in person at the EGM and the final result was 227 in favour and 101 against. This represented a 69.2% majority of those who voted. The ICT had stipulated that a 66% majority was required for the proposal to be carried.

The process will now move on to its next stage and further details will be published in the ICT's magazine, 'Clay Technology', in its November/December 2005 edition.

'Clay Technology' is published six times a year and is available on subscription at a cost of £26 in the UK and £29 overseas. E-mail ct@claytechnology.com for further details on the magazine.
