New Awards for Materials Technology


The Institute of Materials (IoM) has established two new premier awards to recognise contributions to materials science, technology and engineering.

The IoM Gold Medal is to be presented to a company, team or individual making a significant contribution to the industrial application of materials.

The IoM Silver Medal has been specifically set up to recognise outstanding contributions to the broad fields of materials science, engineering and technology, including promotion of the subject on a national or international basis, by a Younger Member (normally under the age of 30).

Both awards will be presented for the first time in 2002. Nominations are currently being invited with a deadline of 26 November 2001. Details of nomination appear together with a full list of the IoM's awards for 2002 at:
