New MATERIALICA Concept Attracts More Visitors

MATERIALICA 2001, the 4th International Trade Fair for Materials Applications, Surface Technology and Products Engineering, drew to a close in Munich with what the organisers say was a "clear vote of approval from exhibitors and visitors who welcomed the fair's new profile as a marketplace for product engineering".

The number of visitors increased from 5,800 to 6,500 and the share of foreign visitors also increased - from 20% in 2000 to 24% this year.

The MATERIALS WEEK congress, held concurrently in the adjacent ICM, attracted 1,400 participants from more than 50 countries and there were more than 800 presentations. Around 44% of delegates came from outside Germany; 26% from Western and Central Europe, 10% from Eastern Europe and 7% from overseas.
