Lenton Introduces New Range of High-Temperature Bottom-Loading Furnaces

A new range of high-temperature bottom-loading furnaces with electrically operated hearths has been introduced by Lenton to provide heating to 1800°C together with convenient handling.

The EHF furnaces are available in three sizes from 3.4 to 21 litres with maximum operating temperatures of 1700°C and 1800°C.

The powered hearth provides safe working conditions for operators and also allows heavy or delicate loads to be handled easily. Fast heating and cooling cycles can be achieved by moving samples in and out of the chamber on the hearth as required.

The furnaces can be used with atmospheres other than air, and models with rotating hearths are also available. Various programmable control systems can be supplied.

Heating is provided by molybdenum disilicide elements which are positioned around the walls of the chamber to ensure good temperature uniformity. A combination of dense refractory brick and low thermal mass insulation creates a hard-wearing chamber and keeps power usage low.
