Khan Asparuh to Open New Tile Factory in Bulgaria

Plans are now moving ahead for a brand new tile manufacturing facility in Bulgaria after investment was confirmed by Khan Asparuh, the country's largest ceramic tile manufacturer. Investment in the plant, which will be situated in Elin Pelin around 30km south-east of the capital Sofia, is thought to total 12 million euro.

The plant will have a capacity of 5 million sq.m. annually and some of the output will be earmarked for export - mainly to Greece, FYR Macedonia and Serbia. The project is expected to be completed by the middle of 2007. Current capacity at the company's manufacturing centre in Isperih is in the order of 10 million sq.m. annually.

Last week, Khan Asparuh took part in the International Technical Fair 2005 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria where it unveiled new ranges of wall and floor tile, both traditional and porcelain stoneware.
