Second Phase for Belarus Tile Plant

The second phase of the new rapid double fire plant at Keramin JSC (Minsk, Belarus) was recently put through final testing. This new line can produce 7,400 square metres per day of 200mm x 300mm x 7mm wall tiles.

The renovation project has allowed Keramin to replace the old double fire lines completely; these had included old Russian-made roller kilns and dryers which were still being used together with now obsolete semi-automatic sorting and glazing units.

The company is reported to be very satisfied with the overall result. On the one hand, there has been a considerable increase in both output capacity and product quality and, on the other, considerable savings have been generated in terms of the plant's natural gas consumption.
