Attendance Increased at Tecnargilla

Rimini Fiera SpA has announced that Tecnargilla 2004 drew a total of 30,241 visitors, 1.8% up on the 2002 event. There was an increase both in the number of Italian visitors (up 1.5%) and foreign visitors (up 2.5%). The number of foreign countries represented rose dramatically, from 84 in 2002 to 109 this year.

The best represented were Spain, Turkey, Iran, China, Germany, Brazil, Russia, Portugal, Thailand, Poland, Egypt, India, France, Argentina and Mexico. These include countries where the Italian ceramic machinery industry is enjoying a booming export activity and others that already have a mature and well developed local ceramic industry.

Rimini Fiera said that the most positive aspect of the show was the enormous satisfaction expressed by the exhibitors, who received more visits from potential new customers than in the past and were particularly impressed by the professionalism and quality of the visitors, including all the largest Italian and foreign producers.

The organisers added that exhibitors had noted a high degree of interest among visitors for the technological innovations showcased, a factor that reinforces the new-found optimism with which the sector's entrepreneurs are looking to the future.

The next Tecnargilla - the 20th in what has now been established by Rimini Fiera as a biennial event - will take place in 2006. As things stand, this means that it is due to take place in the same year as Ceramitec (Munich) for the first time.
