Major Conference Discusses Construction Health and Safety - 17/18 October 2000

The first conference to examine improving occupational health risk management across the construction industry will be held in conjunction with next month's European Health and Safety Week.

"Tackling health risks in construction" is aimed at construction stakeholders to help them develop an industry wide agenda for action. It forms an integral part of the Working Well Together (WWT) campaign to improve health and safety throughout the industry.

The conference takes place over two days and includes a number of interactive workshops examining varied subjects including practical ways to access health and safety information, the impact of design constraints, access to professional occupational health advice for workers and monitoring of ill health.

On the second day, there will be specific sessions on subjects including dermatitius, back injury rehabilitation, respiratory diseases, accessing information on asbestos in buildings and hard arm vibration.
