Successful Audit of Integrated Management System at Herend
Herend Porcelain Manufactory (Herend, Hungary) has become the first factory of its type in Hungary to introduce an integrated system that comprises a mixture of four international system standards - quality management, environmental protection, health and labour protection, and the HACCP food safety system - and the model of European organisational excellence.Expert auditors from TUV Rheinland InterCert Co Ltd have just spent three days looking into the functioning of the system of integrated management at Herend.
This time, the audit focussed on purchasing and purveying activities and the manufacture of plaster casts, raw goods and whites. The production processes, the laboratories and the quality control, the general factory environment, the tidiness and order, the cleanliness, the activities related to storing basic materials and moving goods, the documentation, the work of in-house auditors and progress overseers, the activity of the company related to health, labour and environmental control and the food safety system all qualified as exemplary, reports Herend.
The auditors from TUV Rheinland are reported to have spoken in glowing terms about the standard of professional, quality, environmental, labour and health control prevailing in the factory. They were very positive as regards the recent data analysis and controlling assessment, the outcome of surveys related to both customers and workers, and the wide ranging activities in the field of developing production, products and training.
In their report, they stressed that the excellent product quality, the low number of customer complaints, the elegance of Herend brand shops, the wide range of products, the running of 'Porcelanium' and the Porcelain Museum significantly increased customer satisfaction and boosted the company's prestige and renown.
