Hasle Refractories Consolidates Asian Presence

In order to meet the increasing demand for its castables and precast solutions in the Asian region, Hasle Refractories A/S (Roenne, Denmark) has decided to strengthen its presence in this area. Since 2004, Hasle has been represented by a representation office established in Bangkok, Thailand. However, the company is now represented by Hasle Refractories (Thailand) Co Ltd. This company will operate as a subsidiary to Hasle Refractories A/S.

Bent-Ole Lindahl, who has been in charge of the successful expansion in the region, has been appointed as Managing Director of the new Thai company.

Thanatep Vasanapianpong, a chemical engineer with a vast experience in refractories, has been appointed as Technical Sales Manager, responsible for sales in Thailand and technical support to the company's agent network in the region.

The number of customers has increased significantly during the last two to three years and early this year the company were approached by the Grasim group, India, to supply the precast coating-repellent lining for three new projects at the Aditya, Kolputri and Tadpatri plants. Hasle is also just in the process of supplying the modular linings at the three kilns at Rajashree. The precast lining has shown its effectiveness at several large kilns, mainly covering the critical areas of smoke chamber and riser duct where coating often occurs.

Hasle said that it looked forward to serving the important Asian clients even better through this enhanced presence in the region.
